The End of Everything: Book 2 by Christopher Artinian and narrated by Kim Bretton

The End of Everything: Book 2 by Christopher Artinian and narrated by Kim Bretton is full of action and difficult to put down. Go ahead and clear your schedule to listen to this straight through, you’ll thank me later. Recommend this series if you’re looking for a new zompoc adventure, are new to the genre, looking for strong female leads, or looking for a well-written story.

The second book in the series begins with Robyn and Wren attempting to find their way in their new home/world, but since it’s the zombie apocalypse, things are never easy. While learning new survival skills, their group suffers some losses but also makes some gains (that’s all I’m saying due to spoilers). Throw in some sibling banter, humor, and love, their relationship grows- great character development. The banter is not as much as the first book for those who were put off by it. Christopher’s writing flows in all the right ways and the story is well-written.

There’s a hint of realness to this series (maybe because I can envision the siblings as my brother and me?), but it’s what I’d expect if a zombie apocalypse was to occur. It’s one of the most intense zombie books I’ve listened to/recall recently- in a good way of course.

The narrator, Kim Bretton, did a wonderful job. She really brings the sister’s to life. Kim is a perfect fit for the series.

Overall, I highly recommend, especially if you enjoy zompoc books with lots of action.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: not staying much due to spoilers, but contains things such as violence, death, weapons, occasional swearing, and drinking.

*I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you for allowing me to listen and review the book!
